For Surya and Wedia’s wedding at CHIJMES, we imagined a grove taking hold inside the historic church, a setting for both their vows and a meal with their guests.

Ivy climbed and gathered through the nave. At its centre, the couple exchanged vows beneath a suspended chandelier of orchids. Compact posies of orchids, amaranth and sarracenia carried the green palette into shades of marrow and pistachio.

Guests sat at tables flanking the aisle, where tall branches rose from generous arrangements to frame a second aisle. Below, an almost Italianate palette of olive, burgundy, fig and plum brought depth and richness to the tables.
