A flower negotiates with its pollinator. A seed pod protects what comes next. Plants carry traces of the climates, landscapes and relationships that shaped them. They also carry human histories, appearing in our gardens, kitchens, rituals, memories and everyday lives.

Over three days together, we will explore these layers of meaning and discover how they can become starting points for design.

Understanding plants does not mean simply recreating nature. Instead, we learn to observe the facts of the plant world, from their forms and behaviours to their histories and associations, and use them as material for creating new fictions.

Through market visits, demonstrations, conversations and lots of hands-on making, participants will experiment with plants and flowers across different scales. We will create small botanical worlds, unexpected arrangements and larger collaborative installations, learning how observation and imagination can work together.

Along the way, we explore composition, proportion, colour, structure and storytelling, not as fixed rules, but as tools for bringing ideas to life.

Guided by our team of designers, the course offers an inside look into how This Humid House creates with plants and flowers. We warmly welcome florists, designers, artists, gardeners and anyone curious about the natural world. No prior floral experience is required, only a willingness to look closely, experiment freely and play.

The programme culminates in a communal dining experience styled by participants, bringing together the materials, conversations and discoveries of the days.

Details
- Course fee: SGD 4,200
- Early bird rates until 24 July 2026: SGD 4,000 (first-timers), SGD 3,800 (THH Alumni)
- Alumni please email info@humidhouse.com to register
- Dates: 18 – 20 August 2026
- Time: 9am – 6pm each day, final day will conclude at 9pm
- Venue: THH HQ, 94C Jalan Senang, Singapore 418470
- Parking: BizHub 28, 28 Senang Crescent, Singapore 416601

Fine print
- Designing with Plants and Flowers must be attended by the same participant and is non-transferable
- Once purchased, all bookings are non-refundable
- Early bird and alumni rates are not combinable
